About Frida Chilaquiles

Let me introduce you to Frida Chilaquiles, a cozy Mexican restaurant that feels like a local secret you’re immediately happy to discover. Tucked away at R. de la Plata 258 in the Del Valle area of Monterrey, this spot is all about comfort, flavor, and that relaxed neighborhood energy that makes you want to linger a little longer. From the moment you arrive, Frida Chilaquiles gives off a warm, welcoming vibe, blending traditional Mexican soul with a casual, modern feel that works just as well for a quick breakfast run as it does for an unhurried brunch. The menu leans into chilaquiles as a star attraction, but what really stands out is how thoughtfully everything is prepared, with organic dishes and fresh ingredients taking center stage. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite on a busy morning, sharing small plates with friends, or looking for solid vegetarian options that don’t feel like an afterthought, there’s a clear sense of care behind every dish. Coffee lovers will also feel right at home here, since a good cup pairs naturally with the bold, comforting flavors coming out of the kitchen. Service options are flexible, which makes the place even more approachable, because you can settle in for dine-in, enjoy outdoor seating on a nice day, or keep things simple with takeaway or delivery, including no-contact delivery when convenience matters. As someone introducing this restaurant, I’d say Frida Chilaquiles isn’t trying to be flashy or overcomplicated; instead, it focuses on doing Mexican food well, creating a space that feels familiar yet exciting, and offering an easygoing experience that fits smoothly into everyday life in Monterrey. For first-time visitors and regulars alike, the atmosphere stays friendly and unpretentious, encouraging casual conversations, spontaneous visits, and repeat cravings, while the location in Del Valle makes it easy to drop by without overplanning, turning simple meals into enjoyable routines that feel authentic, relaxed, and genuinely satisfying.

Delicious, very friendly staff and a very colorful place. The chilaquiles are their specialty, obviously, but the menu has more meals to offer. The cafe de olla is delicious as well. Totally recommend to bring family and friends.

This is the real thing! If you’re a fan of Mexican chilaquiles, you won’t find any other place better than this one. These chilaquiles are as good as they get. Plus, in the last few years, they’ve become more sophisticated, adding more and more choices for people to customize their dishes. You cannot miss it!

This place is absolutely wonderful!!! No matter what I say it won’t be enough. It is THAT good. Super friendly and attentive service, awesome decor and theme, so fun to build your own chilaquiles, and the food is so unbelievably good!!! We went there 3 days straight. Israel and Laura are exceptional servers and they took great care of us. The food?? Wow! Everything was good, especially the chicharrón Frida and the Chilaquiles El Regio with sirloin. The Cochinita Pibil was great too. Great fresh squeezed juices, great coffee, great tacos… the list just goes on and on!!!

This location is really cozy, next to a park. You can draw pictures and they hang everyone’s art on the wall. The food is delicious. Be prepared for a strange menu that seems to be a bit confusing. But whatever you order will be good.

When I think of Chilaquiles in MTY, I instantly think of Frida. Beyond the food being amazing, the entire experience of going is worthwhile. Love coming back here.

It had the most reviews and highly recommended for chilaquiles. I went there on this weekend, it’s hard to find parking specially on weekends and the place was fully crowded. The menu was grand and a person explained us everything about menu. Ordered chilaquiles with omelet. Portion was good enough to complete your binder. Order green juice and it was delicious. A bit pricey but highly recommended for the food quality, quantity and taste.

The area has a very chill, relaxed vibe — cozy and colourful. We had a great breakfast here! The food was fresh, full of rich flavours, and made with quality ingredients. I loved that you can customize your chilaquiles just the way you want them. The healthy juices were refreshing and natural. Service was amazing — super friendly and attentive. Our server was pleasant, gave us plenty of time to decide, and even offered testers to help us choose. There was no wait to be seated, and the whole experience felt casual and welcoming. A fantastic spot for chilaquiles in Monterrey! They even offered an English menu, which was a nice touch.
